Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic

Finally, a BIG-MONEY, BIG-FISH sportfishing tournament is coming to where the fish live: Louisiana! www.comefishLa.com is proud to announce The Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic, May 31 through June 5, 2005. Presented by Gulf Coast Hatteras and Hatteras Yachts, the Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic will be hosted by one of the finest sportfishing facilities in the South: Cypress Cove Marina and Lodge, located in Venice, Louisiana.

Featuring a modified-release format for billfish species along with BIG prize money for Blue Marlin, Tag or Release, Dolphin, Tuna, and Wahoo, the Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic will attract sportfishing tournament enthusiasts from the entire Gulf Coast and nation to south Louisiana. The tournament name originates from the world famous deepwater canyons off the Gulf coast of Louisiana: the Mississippi Canyon (named after the Mississippi River, not the state) and the Green Canyon; both home to true world-class sportfishing. Louisiana is home to
the first "grander" Blue Marlin caught in the Gulf of Mexico (1018.50 lbs.), along with monster Dolphin (state record 71.25 lbs.), 200 pound plus Yellowfin Tuna (state record 234 lbs.), and 100 pound plus Wahoo (state record 139.25 lbs.).
